About the Event
"There is nothing more essential than food. The COVID-19 pandemic has elevated the social status of those working in agriculture & food service; yet there seems to be little economic relief on offer for the essential workers responsible for our most basic necessities. It should come as no surprise that, according to the United Nations, 80% of all food produced is consumed in urban areas – emphasizing relationships across the rural/urban dichotomy. Whether on a policy or community level, from a citizen or a business perspective, cities form a huge opportunity for transformation of food systems. This program will take a look at how a global public health crisis has created an opportunity to reconsider our connections with the earth, the economy, with each other, & with that that brings us together – food.
